After graduating high school in 1987, Carmen joined the military before becoming a business owner in the early 90s. In 2006, he began to draw to cope with life's challenges, and in 2014 displayed his artwork to the public for the first time at a local art show in Nashua, NH. His most proud moment was his appearance on NH Chronicle in 2021 on an episode called "Masterpieces in Pencil."
"My art is a story I share through ideas, inspirations, and THOUSANDS of pencil lines."
"I make art the way I know how. I don't know much about famous artists or art history, and my work isn't perfect, but it's my art, and each line I draw on paper is like a sentence in a novel for you to read."
