PURPLE PASSION
This “Purple Passion” idea started at an indoor garden with free-flying butterflies in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. My mind began to create a picture while I sat there watching dozens of butterflies sipping from flowers, basking in the sunshine, and flying freely in a natural habitat. I had to rush home to start this sketch before the idea left. I grabbed some artificial flowers and vases from my shelf, arranged them many times, and took photos. The still-life needed more, and I began organizing and placing more flowers and fruit in the composition until I decided this composition pleased me.
