THOUSANDS of straight graphite lines, short and long strokes, shapes inside shapes and value, create these well rendered drawings by Carmen Verdi.
His contemporary style is truly unique and has been described as “Insanely Beautiful”. Verdi’s work is about the human being. He invites his audience to become emotionally involved with the characters like his emotional involvement in the creation.
Carmen’s black & white drawings recall his childhood experiences of being bullied and drawing as an escape. His Drawings are therapy, his medication, his refuge. And, he hides the names of his children in his work. It makes him feel close to them without being with them. “Without art, life would be dead.” He explains.
